Co-efficient employs people from a variety of backgrounds. Most have tertiary qualifications in areas such as Science, Education, Business, and Psychology. All of our staff have First Aid accreditation as a minimum and most have higher skills in a broad range of Technical Skill areas.

What we look for in our people?

The following is a very brief list of things we look for in our people. This is by no ways an exhaustive list nor is it a minimum requirement lists. It is simply a guide as to what we (and our clients) are looking for in people who work with them!

Soft Skills / Human Development Skills

  • A good knowledge of sequencing a programme towards achieving specific objectives.
  • A sound knowledge of games and initiatives.
  • A positive attitude towards physical and emotional safety,
  • A positive attitude towards satisfying the clients perceived and real needs,
  • An ability to maintain high 'energy' levels within a group.
  • An ability to not only brief and run an activity safely, but to debrief that activity towards specific objectives.
  • Be able to demonste group processing skills.
  • Be able to demonste tolerance for ambiguity.
  • The ability to observe and interpret behaviour.
  • The ability to form appropriate questions and listen to answers.
  • A good sense of timing.
  • An ability to work with other staff and clients

Hard Skills

Due to the nature of our Industry and the ever increasing need for accredited qualifications, we are looking for people who have a mix of the following, or similar;

  • Basic Skills Instructor (Canoeing and Kayaking)
  • Bus licence
  • Certificate III,IV, Diploma in Outdoor Recreation
  • Degree, Grad Dip or Masters In Outdoor Education
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Indoor presentation skills
  • Whitewater Instructor (Kayaking)
  • Royal lifesaving Bronze Medallion
  • Powerboat licence
  • ACIA Rockclimbing qualifications
  • Some VETEC qualifications
  • Wilderness First Aid
  • Swiftwater Rescue Technician
  • Low to High Angle Rescue Technician

What we provide for our people?

  • Certification notification: Once you provide us with your certification details. We keep a register of them and notify you when they are about to lapse
  • Program Logbook: We log every job that we send you on and can provide you with a log book that tells you the date, program name and duration of every program
  • Activity Logbook: When necessary we can provide you with a logbook of the number of days you spend working on specific activities such as Climbing, Canoeing etc.
  • Training Opportunities: Throughout the year we will provide a number of training programs to staff at minimum or no cost
  • Career Path: With our wide range of clients we can help staff identify where they want to be and help them get there
  • Pay Rates: A rate of pay, which, in most cases, is higher than general industry rates and quantities of work, which generally can’t be matched by individual providers
